About Mikoala
Mikoala is an initiative of industrial design engineer Rick Blom and movement scientist/physiotherapist Jan Willem Elkhuizen. It is the mission of Mikoala to improve people's lives and that as many people as possible will sleep comfortably and wake up without any complaints.
Rick Blom, MSc
Industrial design engineer, designed an ergonomic drill and various products for the computer workstation. Received several awards for his designs, including the prestigious Ergonomics Excellence Award. Designed the Hi4 Pillow and Body Supporter Pillow for SleepingWise together with Jan Willem Elkhuizen.
Jan Willem Elkhuizen, M
Worked 20 years as a physiotherapist and manual therapist. Studied as movement scientist (Anatomy Department). Did cutting room and literature research on headache-from-the-neck. Published articles about the subject and gave various courses to (para)medics. Conducted research on innovative pillows and bed frames.
